IMPORTANT NOTICE
All players are informed that following on from the Government announcement Today (Monday 16th March 2020) about measures being introduced to curb Coronavirus (Covid – 19); that the start of the 2020 Summer Darts League is postponed until further notice. This is due to the advice from the Government’s Chief Scientific and Medical Advisers that amongst other things “Everyone should avoid gatherings and crowded places, such as pubs, clubs and theatres”. This means that most, if not all, the pubs and clubs the league will be playing in will be closed and we should all be following the Government advice.
Once the Government advice changes regarding gatherings and crowded places the League Chairman and Secretary will decide on the best course of action on starting the league. Dependent on the time frame this could be a delayed start to playing the whole league, dropping the cup matches, only playing half the fixtures or whatever seem most appropriate at the time. Until such time as we get an idea of the timeframes for the restrictions being lifted we cannot make an informed decision and therefore there is no point is speculating on the way ahead at this stage.
We hope you all understand this decision and we will inform you as soon as we are in a positon to set a start date.
Yours in darts,
Cathy Campbell, League Chairman & Dougie Dyke, League Secretary
